about me

Hello! I’m Sarah.

FireTiger Fitness has been a long time coming and it has been great to have such a wonderful impact to so many females, younger and older, since the launch in September 2022.

I’m excited to share my experience with you. Cue – short historical flashback.

My whole life has been involved in sport. Mostly because it’s always been my passion and probably also because I always had too much energy and excitement, so I have been encouraged to put it to good use.

Whilst at school, I competed Internationally in modern pentathlon, fencing and I was shortlisted for the GBR pony eventing squad. However, doing too much resulted in long term injuries, overtraining, and I burnt out. So I took a break.

At University, I rediscovered my passion for sports, especially supporting others to train and develop their love for sport too. I started managing retention of children in sports such as swimming, encouraging their parents to support their development with my first “real” career job.

I realised my favourite part of my role was developing students and staff, helping people get better at things and find their passions. So I decided to become a teacher! Guess which subject..? I became Assistant Director of Sport, Head of Girls Sport and Head of Academic PE.

I thrived on bonding with the students and watching them become as passionate as I was about sport. Or for some, helping them to find an activity they began to grow confidence in and progress from there. Both equally as important, I was motivated by showing students that they could have the chance to evolve and be better than they were, however they wanted that to be.

about firetiger fitness

In recent years many ‘wider life’ issues have developed at an alarming rate; with female confidence, eating disorders, self-harming, mental health issues at an all time high. It struck me that females young and old, do not have the knowledge, or the toolkit to optimally look after themselves (through no fault of their own). So, I created seminars and practical sessions to teach. I’ve taught adults and children how to adapt and thrive, mentally, physically – holistically. They have gained the confidence to be able to do what they want, rather than being ruled by what others think of them. The results continue to be outstanding.

For those students and girls who would actually avoid sport at school, or avoid participating in activity when boys were around, giving them the confidence and capability to persevere anyway was what drove me to make a real difference. It did, and it is one of the achievements I am most proud of.

The FireTiger Fitness mission aims to take this to all women, offering the support and knowledge and confidence that everybody needs to start somewhere. And if you’ve got the right person to help you, you can achieve anything you want to.

If it hasn’t become clear, I believe I am that “right person”.
